IEBC summons Sabina Chege over voter rigging remarks

Murang’a  County Women Representative Sabina Chege is scheduled defend herself before Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) over rigging remarks.

Chege is set to appear before the IEBC Code of Conduct Enforcement Committee on Tuesday February 15, to respond to the comments she made alleging voter rigging in favour of President Uhuru Kenyatta in the 2017 general elections.

She allegedly made this statements while seeking support for the Azimio la Umoja movement in Vihiga County.

“Whereas the commission is seized of a report and material against yourself in regard to violation of clause6(0) and 6(1) of the Electoral Code of Conduct, you are hereby required to attend the Offices of the Commission at Anniversary Towers 6th floor on 15th day of February 2022 at 9.00 o’clock,” read the summon letter.
