Youths in Kuria have come out to slow down the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) presence in the region.

The youths, led by Migori County Senatorial aspirant Willis Misare have vowed to market Azimio la Umoja Movement led by ODM leader Raila Odinga.

The Kuria region, made up of Kuria East and Kuria West Constituencies have been a hard nut to crack for the former Premier.

In the 2017 general election, the two parliamentary seats went to Jubilee Party, with Raila garnering less than 50 per cent of the votes from the two constituencies.

And with the two legislators; Marwa Kitayama (Kuria East) and Mathias Robi (Kuria West) aligning themselves with Deputy President William Ruto ahead of the 2022 general election, Misare and his team have come out to change the tide.

The youths on Friday held an engagement meeting at Kehancha, where they drew a strategy aimed at bringing the Kuria vote to Azimio basket.

“Today we have had a successful Kuria ODM youths and delegates meeting, and we are out to strengthen the base support for the ODM party and Azimio la Umoja Movement in Kuria,” stated Misare.

He said Kuria youths are not ready to be left out of the Azimio government.

Misare is set to battle for the Azimio ticket with Eddy Oketch who has decamped the Federal Party of Kenya to join ODM party.
