Sportpesa man takes his gamble to Kasarani Parliamentary seat

Sportpesa CEO Ronald Karauri has taken his gamble a notch higher.

Captain Karauri on Wednesday announced his entry into Kasarani Parliamentary seat in the forthcoming August 9, general election.

Karauri who was in Kasarani said he has received lots of requests from Kasarani residents calling for him to take up the seat.

“Kasarani has leaders, and lots of them, but at times there are stages of leadership,” said Karauri amid applause.

He added; “But it gets to some point where we must make certain decision. People of Kasarani have asked me to be their MP and I have accepted the call.”

Karauri expressed confidence that he will win the seat come August 9. It was not however clear which party he will use.

He has however been seen in the company of Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja lately.

The former pilot with Kenya Airways came to the limelight when he turned around the fortunes of Sportpesa, a gambling firm from a small company to the leading sports lotary in East Africa.

He joins the lot of musician Prezzo who has also expressed interest for the seat.
