NCBA Bank has opened a new branch in Kericho.
This brings the total number of branches to 80 in what the management termed as a bid to expand their business and get closer to their customers.
Group Managing Director John Gachora said the bank managed to open 12 new branches last year, and that there are plans to open another branch in Bungoma.
“We want to be close to the customers and be in every county at the end of our expansion strategy,” he said.
He said Kericho was selected for the new branch due to the massive agricultural activities in the area, as well as the fast growth of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).
The bank was formed two years ago when Commercial Bank of Africa came together with NIC bank, and is has distinguished itself in the banking sector with a range of products it offers.
The bank boasts of 26 million customers and controls about 35 per cent of the market share for asset finance.
“For every 10 vehicles you see on the road, four of them have been financed by NCBA bank,” said Gachora.
